1939: Swiss heiress Annemarie Schwarzenbach and her companion motored through the Swiss Alps to Italy and on to Yugoslavia with the intent to end in Afghanistan. Annemarie was an adventurous traveler, journalist, novelist and photographer, but her accomplishments were often overshadowed by the drama of her life. Born to a wealthy Swiss family, she battled opposing political views with them until her early death at the age of 34.

Photographer Marianne Breslauer recorded Annemarie throughout her turbulent life, capturing her androgynous glamour which had an air of elegant indifference that suited bohemian Berlin society at the time. Annemarie’s mother dressed her in boys’ clothes growing up, influencing how she would continue to style herself for the rest of her life. It was with Annmarie as our muse that we created the Fall 25 Collection.

Starting with car interiors led us to car seat checks, leather piping and straps, chrome edges, and military-inspired moleskin cottons, bomber jackets and wool coats. There are argyles and Fair Isle sweaters, plaid coats, jaspe textures and Donegal tweeds these traditional patterns became the foundation of the collection. But there is a romantic influence that runs through perhaps it’s a nod to the ‘30s and ’40s, or the delicate patterns discovered on a mural at the Villa Medici in Rome. No matter the reference, you will discover smocking and delicate gathers that create soft fullness on blouses and dresses, while lace and sheer silks with rumpled trims and covered buttons counter the more traditional winter textiles.
